Pink And Red Valentines Mantle Decor

in Celebrations, Crafts & DIY, Home Decor, SVG Cut Files, Valentine's Day

When it comes to Valentines day there are no better colors to decorate with than pink and red! See how to put together a coordinated pink and red Valentines mantle by repurposing items already in your home or easily making your own pieces of decor.

Once we moved our Christmas tree out of our living room it looked SOOO boring and plain! We do plan to eventually put in some built ins on either side of the fireplace, but for now, I plan to keep this space happy by changing out the mantle decor.

Do you recognize some of the decor pieces seen on this year’s Pink and Red Valentines mantle? I like to start with a high center piece and this time around I chose the DIY chicken wire frame I made years ago for our Christmas cards. It’s a great way to hang items, including my new DIY button wreath.

The base of this frame is a white foam core wreath with red doilies and a collection of buttons to cover the surface.

Most of the buttons are from a big bag we inherited from Derek’s grandma which also included many from his great Grandma’s collection. I’ve used several over the years (including the Octopus frame in Hailey’s room and the St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock headband I made for Brielle) but never as a centerpiece like this!

On either side of the frame I had the girls paint me up some cheap wood hearts from the Dollar Tree. This is actually the only part of this mantle I paid for so consider this another $2 mantle!

These white battery powered tealight candle houses were previously used on my black and red Christmas paid mantle but I thought they could use a temporary update for this mantle.

Insert temporary adhesive vinyl and these plain houses are now Valentines friendly with pink and red heart flowers.

The last piece of Valentines mantle decor I made for this year’s display was an upcycling project made from this plastic gift box.

I cut down the pieces and added more vinyl to create my own light box letters! I’ll continue to be on the lookout for more plastic I can repurpose for this light box to make it more useful for all sorts of fun occasions!

I love how this pink and red Valentine mantle looks and am happy to have it up for a few weeks this winter!
