I can’t believe this is the 8th birthday party I’ve shared for my oldest Brielle and the 6th for my youngest, Hailey! As you know, these two share a birthday and thus far have only had joint parties to celebrate their big day (Scroll to the bottom for links to the other 7 party themes!).
This year, instead of having everyone spend their time sweating in our backyard, I pulled the trigger and we decided on an indoor venue location and we threw a bowling party!
Invitations
One of my favorite parts of planning and throwing a party is to do the invitations! I know kids get very little clues to when a party is happening these days as it’s often done electronically in the parent’s email. I still plan to create a paper invite in the mail as I know how exciting it is to receive one! This was the first piece I designed for the party and the look then translated to other paper crafted elements.
Decorations
No decorations for this year’s party since it wasn’t at home and I’m kinda sad about that.
Desserts
This bowling party included pizza for the kids but we were able to bring in our own dessert. I ALWAYS opt for cupcakes for kids parties as no one wants to eat something your kid just breathed all over, especially in covid times! I created these little bowling cupcake toppers which you can create using my free svg cut file.
This option still allowed my girls to blow out the candles with their own mini dessert.
Favors
I was able to steer clear of the edible party favors and opted to give something everyone expects from us, crafts! My girls love painting all the wood shape pieces at the Dollar Tree so I knew their friends would love the pineapple shaped containers and a row of acrylic paint to get crafty. I completed the look with a bowling favor tag tied to each which I signed with the girls’ names.
