We have nicknamed Hailey our little piggy since she loves to nurse and eat. I took this thought and decided to DIY both her and her sister pig halloween costumes using the hoodie and onesie methods I loved last year for Halloween!

First, sorry for these poorly lit step out photos. I was often crafting these parts at night!

I made a tutu using a crochet headband and pink tulle for each costume. You can see the steps to create one here when I made Brielle’s for her first Christmas photoshoot.

As Hailey is used to having hairties in, but not a headband on, I used pink felt to make little pig ears to clip onto her pig tails.
First, I drew a template of a pig ear on a scrap of paper and traced it onto the felt with my water erase pen. (Seriously loving this thing lately!)

Once cutting it, I used straight pins to pin them in place on a silver hairclip, making sure to give a little fold on one side to really give it that piggy ear look.

To wear I just clip onto her pig tails (pun intended) and she’s instantly a little piglet.

Brielle’s ears were attached to her hoodie. I used a similar template shape, but added a few straight pieces on the bottom of each ear.

After cutting it out, I scrunched up these bottom pieces, drew and cut a slit in the hoodie and inserted the ears.

I folded these straight pieces back once inside and used straight pins to hold them in place.

I thought Brielle’s costume needed a little something extra and came up with an easy snout addition for the hoodie. To make it, I sewed two black ovals onto a pink felt circle. Then pinned this on top of a long piece of felt to made a raised shape.

I was able to pin and sew it to the top and she had her piggy snout!

To make each tail, I followed similar steps from this post. Create a swirl shape on pink felt and repeat for a second identical piece. Sew along the edges, except the ends. Turn the shape inside out from the open end using a pen to help push all the felt inside. With a little effort a curly q pig tail was born!

I sewed it on the back of Hailey’s onesie and one on Brielle’s hoodie top and OMG they were so cute! Tip: Make sure to pin and sew a little higher than their waist line so you can see it over the tutu that sits at their waist.

They’re pretty darn excited to wear them this Halloween! Hailey just loves having a bucket in tow!
