  • Everyone goes through an instructional lesson and a low beginner course to understand the equipment prior to climbing – A very informative instructor will guide you through all parts of your equipment on your harness, the phrases to use for communication on the course and watch you practice key moves on the beginner level course.  For example, you never use the terms “go” or “no” before zip lining as those sound the same from afar, but instead you’ll use the term “all clear” when the next guest is available to zip after you finish.

  • Kids age 4 – 6 will enjoy the Chick Pea area of the park – This low to the ground, but kid friendly area is great for young climbers as they can practice all the obstacle course aspects of this park without the extreme height or complicated movements. We didn’t have any climbers this age, but I was impressed with this size of this kiddie space that cost about $20 a ticket.

  • There are 4 Levels of climbs at the park – After the instructional course, you’re free to explore the ariel park, going through whatever order you want, except for level 4 that is aged for 12+ and requires you to complete a specific lower course and must be unlocked by a staff member before climbing. Our group of 2 adults and 5 kids was able to be broken into two groups – (1) adult and (3) 9/10 year old kids in one group and (1) adult with a 12 year old and 14 year old in the other group. I led the first group and we went through the course in order, starting at level 1. My husband led the older girls who successfully climbed Level 4 but did reiterated it was MUCH higher than other courses and required more physical strength than the others. Course 3 was a favorite of most as it was mostly zip lines!

  • The course is self-paced, but staff is available to help you – From the check in person, the members fitting and tightening our harnesses, the instructor teaching everyone how to use the equipment at the beginner course to the “blue shirts” helping people who get “stuck” on the course, everyone we interacted with at TreeTop Quest of Philadelphia was super helpful, positive, and patient! When climbing, you’re in charge of your own equipment, learning how to add your c hook to a course and learning how to get it through the different parts of the experience. You also set up your own pulley for the zip lines. Our 9/10 year olds had no problem accomplishing this park on their own!

  • Gloves are optional – For $5 you can purchase gloves (or you are welcome to bring your own). We didn’t get them and no one felt they missed out and needed them. Your hands got a little dirty from grabbing equipment pieces during the climb, but no one got burns or blisters on our hands during in our climbing experience.

  • Sunscreen and bug spray are optional (but we didn’t find they were needed the day we went) – This beautiful adventure park is surrounded by the forest of high trees, making this shady space the perfect area to explore nature. We went on a BEAUTIFUL summer day of about 80 degrees and never felt hot as the canopy of trees gave good coverage. We also didn’t wear any sunglasses and no one had sunny sight issues.

  • Bathrooms, picnic tables, and benches are available – 2 porta potties are available in the check in area as they strongly suggest to go prior to getting harnesses put on. Picnic tables and benches are stationed throughout the course so non climbers (who aren’t charged) are available to stay 2 feet on the ground and watch the climbers around the park. There are lockers you can use for a daily rate of $5 or you can leave your water bottles at a bench as you climb in that area.

  • Birthday parties and groups are welcomed at TreeTop Quest in Philadelphia – This park was about an hour drive where we live but if you’re closer, I highly recommend this spot for a birthday party, especially kids around 10 years old and up! We saw so many families of different ages and friend groups having fun, encouraging each other and being proud of the accomplishments as they finished a course.

5 Tips to Make Shell Canvases like this: 🐚 Draw ou 5 Tips to Make Shell Canvases like this:
🐚 Draw out a stencil of your preferred shape. It's optional to paint the shape itself, but even a rough pencil line will keep you on task
🐚 Use strong glue and a lot of it! I used E6000 glue and ended up having to get more than what you see here.
🐚 Flip the shells over! There are some cool colors on the insides that may match better than the top side.
🐚 Clean and dry the shells thoroughly. Sorry, but I have no tips about this process as my mom had these ones for year from past trips, but you don't want some smelly shells hanging in your home!
🐚 Don't skip on those little shells as those minis are perfect to fill in the gaps of the collages.

Hello fellow readers! If you're looking for some r Hello fellow readers! If you're looking for some recommendations for historical fiction reads, here are 5 of my favorites I enjoyed last year that I'd recommend to readers who like this genre (with no spoilers):
.
The Frozen River by Arial Lawhorn – Takes place in the post American Revolution times, narrated by a midwife sharing her challenges in this profession and not being taken seriously but still having people trust her medical authority. It includes a murder and trial, which just reiterates how crazy it was to be a woman back then and their lack of rights!
.
The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel – Like many of her books, this author focuses on the French aspect of WWII, but this time as those who helped forge documents to help Jewish children cross the border.
.
The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Miessner – Follow Susan Whalen who comes to San Francisco in 1906 as a mail order bride only to get into the middle of a complicated life after marrying a man she never met and things she discovers during a nature disaster in her state.
.
The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali – Starts in the 1950s in Iran where we meet two friends and follow their story through the historic time of this country. This fictional read shares more about the culture and limitations of women and those who try to change the government while struggling to maintain friendships.
.
The Rose Code by Kate Quinn – An assortment of female friendships during WWII as they work to break secret codes by the German military and continues to follow their stories through the years.
.
If you have a suggestion on another in this genre, please leave it in the comments so I can add to my TBR!
