If Hobby Lobby can break out the pumpkins and Halloween vibes in July then so can I! I’m jumping aboard the Summerween season and created my very own plush girl ghost pillow complete with a flower crown and filled with a new version of Poly-Fil Polyester Fiber Fill known as Joy-Fil.

I’ve officially declared this Hot Ghoul Summer when creating a cute plush pillow accessory for my outdoor patio space. She’s filled with the newest version of Poly-Fil Polyester Fiber Fill known as Joy-Fil. This extra spring and soft stuffing material is perfect for plush characters you plan to snuggle and hold. Girl Ghost Pillow Supplies:
- Poly-Fil Joy-Fil Polyester Fiber Fill
- Fabric or Felt – white, orange, green, black, pink
- Embroidery Thread – white, orange, green, black, pink
- Girl Ghost Template
- Fabric Scissors
- Tailor’s Chalk

First, print out the two pages of the Girl Ghost template and tape the pieces together to form the full ghost body shape. Cut out the other template pieces.

Lay the ghost shape onto the white fabric and trace the shape twice using Tailor’s chalk. If the front of the fabric matters, make sure to trace one version with the template face down as you’ll be putting them back to back when sewing together.

Cut out all the remaining shapes on their coordinating colors of felt.

Each flower is made from 5 of the semi heart shapes and three leaves. Sew a loose running stitch on the bottom of the petal shapes, as shown above. Then pull the thread tightly to form the flower look and knot to secure.

On one side of the ghost body, sew the flowers onto the top of the ghost’s head, attaching the leaves underneath. Sew the white inner ovals on the black eyes then sew onto the face. Sew the semi smile and pink cheeks in place.

Once you’ve sewn all parts of the ghost’s facial features and flower crown onto one side, pin the right sides together of the ghost’s body. Sew these pieces together, leaving a small opening at the bottom.

Turn this shape right side out and begin to fill with the fluffy Joy-Fil filling. Like the other versions of this fluffy material, you can stuff as little or as much as you want into your shape making it a firm or fluffy pillow design. Once filled to your heart’s content, sew the hole together using a slip stitch.

Your hot ghoul summer is ready to begin! Stage this cute plush girl ghost pillow on your patio furniture and host yourself a fun summerween party complete with a jack-o-lantern cut watermelon!
