You may remember that I had created this post using scraps and circles when I guest posted on Polkadot Pretties November 2012.

Then I followed that with another guest post on A Peek into My Paradise with more ideas to use paper scraps and circle punches this past March. Today I wanted to give you some additional details on how I created this most recent set of circle related cards!

This first card came together pretty quickly. I used layered circle punches with a little inking on the edges and created a little daytime scene! I broke out the needle and embroidery thread to create rays of sunshine and added a little texture to this sympathy / get well design!

Next, I punched out a few shapes to create one of my favorite technique with circle punches: layered flowers! First, punch several circles of different sizes in both a purple and green. Hold one purple punched shape with both hands and push in the middle with your thumbs to create curved edges around the outside. Crinkle up the punched shape even further to add some texture! Repeat with the remaining purple shapes.

Add some ink around the edges for depth and layer together with a decorative brad or button. For the leaves, I simply crinkled, inked, and folded the shape in half. Now my dimensional flowers are ready to help celebrate something big!

This last card uses circle shapes that have been altered. You can see how I cut little triangle shapes around each circle piece to make flowers with petals. Tip: curl each “petal” around a pencil to create a curved shaped.

Once layered, inked, and stacked, these circle shapes are now transformed into a tall floral design perfect to thank a helpful friend!

In just a short amount of time I was able to use of some of that ever growing paper scrap stash and turn it into more handmade cards for my collection!
GORGEOUS cards! LOVE how you used the circles. All are lovely but love the hot air balloon one!!!
Thanks Leslie! That one is my favorite too!
