The Incredibles Party | Birthday Cake

in Birthday, Celebrations, Crafts & DIY, Edible Food Crafts

Fans of the 2004 Pixar movie The Incredibles will be happy to hear that the Incredibles 2 is hitting theaters soon! For those who are having a summer birthday in the next few months, consider throwing a spy action filled Incredibles Party complete with a birthday cake featuring their family logo!

If you couldn’t already tell, I’ll be the first to say that I’m not a professional baker by any means. I tend to bake and decorate my own cakes or cupcakes when doing party staging for assignments to save on budget but I also feel this is true to the homemade feel actual users would be able to do at home! Sometimes a serendipitous mistake ends up looking good in the end which is what happened in the case of this Incredibles cake!

DIY Incredibles Cake Supplies:

  • Chocolate Cake
  • Chocolate candies – I used Sixlets but you could easily swap these for M&Ms
  • Red icing
  • Serrated Knife

Grab your handy assistant and bake your cake in a 9” round pan. Use a serrated knife to level off the top of the cake. (Tip: Save this piece as you never know if you’ll need it like I did!)

Once cooled, cover in red icing. Begin in the upper third of the cake and start with your white center of the “i”. Add a ring around it of yellow then consider to create the Incredibles Logo.

In my case, I’m glad I saved this leveled piece from the first step as I forgot to buy black chocolate candies and used the leveled off chocolate cake as this portion of the Incredibles logo! If you’re not as forgetful as my mommy brain then go ahead and cover this space in black candies.

I actually like the texture this chocolate cake covering added to the cake so it was a happy accident!

This cake sat center stage at my Incredibles 2 party complete with black foam boards to create the cityscape background.
