Ali Edwards once made this really cute framed decor piece using a simple butterfly punch and a stack of patterned papers. I have used her idea as inspiration to both use up scraps and to create some of my own punch collages!

Here’s one I hang up every holiday season. It’s a small shadowbox which features a 3″ scallop circle punch decorated with fun christmas patterned papers and Holiday random stickers.

I’ve also made a similar shadowbox for a friend’s home, which had many blue/green themes.
Mine you, this concept does not stand as shadowboxes alone. It can also be easily interpretted in simple cards of any theme! Here are two quick examples:
A birthday card made for my friend EL from February (she’s a big disney fan) using one sticker, a circle punch and some scraps of coordinating red, yellow and black papers.

Second, a simple Thinking of you card for a friend going through a difficult time. a pointed circle punch, ink on the edges, and a simple stamped phrase. Two totally different concepts with the same simple approach.
