A party animals party theme is a fun one to take it any direction you choose. Go farm animals, jungle animals or a mix of anything you want! To make your party animals themed party a little more fun, paint your own animal figurines and dress them up to match your party decor as a cute centerpiece!

I sometimes worry I’m making my kids jaded to the concept of birthday parties since I had been styling 1 – 3 a month in my home the last 2 years. When I asked my girls what party themed they wanted for this year’s joint birthday party, after naming all the themes I just did that last month Brielle burst out with “animals!” I pondered her suggestion a few minutes and concluded that a party animal themed party sounded fun! I gave it my own flair and went with a black, white, orange and pink color scheme and began sketching out the party details and plans.

Little did I know that my plans would be thrown for a loop when we decided to buy a new home, sell our home and move into the new space just 5 days before the planned party!

Luckily I am a planner at heart and had worked on some of the party decorations, including finishing this centerpiece before packing up our home to start our new life.

I opted to paint these simple plastic figurine animals in the party colors using my favorite Deco Art Americana Acrylics paint. Different sized paint brushes made it easy to paint all their little wrinkles and to add polka dots or special stripes.

Some of them got a little more fancy with a pretty tulle tutu (created using this same method).

How would you be scared of a lion painted so pretty?

I staged these painted animals down the center of the table before everyone arrived. But it was no big deal when the kids came and wanted to interact and play with them, which most of them did.

This simple to do centerpiece came together easily and made this party space a little more fun!

- Use parade wearables as the decor, like these festival hats hung on the window curtain rod for the backdrop
- Single serve cereal cups means no need to do dishes!
