Father’s Day 2013

Celebrations, Crafts & DIY, Father's Day, Papercrafts

Making handmade cards for a dad is always a challenge. There are only so many topics you can hit before you have to repeat yourself. Sure you can do a camping design:

or focus on the grill:

or play up their love of golf:

or if they’re a beer or soda lover, make them a can cake:

and then what? This year I decided to play on something all dads seem to enjoy: puns!

For my dad, I went with a bear sticker (black bears are very popular where I grew up) and a “Beary Best Dad” phrasing.

For my Father-In-Law, who has been known to strum a tune on a guitar, I made a “You Rock” themed card.

Both cards used my layered scraps with punched edges techniques seen on my “Use Your Stash: Monkey Business” Post.

Happy Father’s Day Dad and Jim!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: K&Company | Stickers: Jolee’s Boutique | Punches: EK Tools, Stampin’ Up, Martha Stewart Crafts

Coming at you a day late with this fun shadowbox project I made for the @custompictureframes blog using recycled wine corks that fits the theme. I'm a white wine gal myself so I have to thank mom for saving all her red wine corks for me!
