You’ve rid your house of your the Christmas decor that’s been sitting in your home for the past few weeks it’s time for something new. Enter Fairfield World and their Poly Beads which look a lot like snow! Let’s create two pieces of winter globe decor in 2 unexpected containers!
DIY Winter Snow Globe Decor:
- Poly Beads
- Terracotta pot and matching saucer
- Glass Bowl
- Wooden Knob
- Acrylic Paint
- Mini bottle brush trees
- Strong Adhesive
To create the snow globe piece, first, turn the terracotta saucer upside down and adhere the wood knob on top using a strong adhesive.
Next turn your terra cotta pot upside down and paint it and the lid whatever color you choose. I decided on a navy blue and use a clean brush to make a dry brush painted effect. This hint of a farmhouse look will go perfect in our dining room!
Once dry, adhere the glass bowl on the top of the terra cotta pot and the mini bottle brush trees or any other accessories inside. This would make a great project to do with older kids or as a girls’ night in the holiday season or in winter.
After your trees or fillers are in place and dry, pour your poly beads into the bowl, as desired. I like to do a light layer on the bottom and cover some of the tree components as if it was just dumped on by a newly fallen snow. Add the top and it’s ready to be displayed! Tip: you might also consider adding something underneath the trees to have them raised and allow for more “snow” in your scene.
Let It Snow Shadowbox:
- White Shadowbox
- Poly Beads
- Let it snow SVG cut file
- Blue Adhesive Vinyl
- Transfer Tape
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut Basic Tools
Cut the “Let it snow” phrase on white adhesive vinyl and use the basic weeding tools to weed it for application.
Adhere vinyl phrase to the front of the white shadowbox.
Turn the frame over and open the backing. Pour Poly Beads inside, about half way. These resilient foam beads are so fun to craft with for the winter season, especially since they look like forever snowflakes!
Close the back of the frame and get ready to put it out on display.
This pair of DIY Winter Snow decor would make a great addition to fill empty places on your book shelves to welcome winter for the next few weeks!
