Christmas is basically upon us and we’re very ready for the jolly guy to visit our house! Before the house is covered in wrapping paper bits and there are new toys everywhere, I wanted to make sure to capture our house all decorated for the holidays. Please join me for a brief Christmas Home Tour!
When you’re a blogger, you’re almost expected to keep a clean house and get it decorated early for the holidays. My Christmas decorations have been up since mid November and I love! Don’t get me wrong, I’ll happily welcome the change in season when they come down in a week or so, but it’s been nice to bask in the feeling of Christmas in the home!
I previously shared this entry mirror makeover going from a black frame, to a painted blue design and back to white. I can’t wait to dress it for future seasons but love traditional red, green and silver look I went with this year.
We have a split level home so most of the decorations are held in my main kitchen/dining/living room level. In other years I hung mini felt stockings counting down the days til Christmas from these garlands around the railings but with the Elf already coming as daily entertainment, I decided to not include them.
To the right is our tree full of an eclectic mix of ornaments from family travels, handmade or which include milestones. I look forward to building this collection for years to come!
Since I work from home, this tree is on most days and nights and I love the glow is gives off.
I don’t change many decorations through the years but did add this little gallery this year. It includes previous photos of the girls with Santa and some family Christmas group shots.
This one from last year still makes me (and hopefully anyone who sees it) smile!
The styling on our entertainment unit is ALWAYS changing. The top cubbies include previous purchases and handmade projects made for Wholesale Party Supplies assignments with the embroidery stockings hung overhead. I am probably being a bag blogger by showing it in this manner with the kids books and toys in the bottom cubbies but hey, I’m keeping it real!
Parents – do you have your names on your stockings or do they say Mom and Dad?
Lastly is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season, the Christmas card display! We made this one last year using wood and chicken wire frame and I love filling it up each season! This year it sits over the girls’ little kitchen, which is HIGHLY recommend to fellow toddler parents. Unlike those plastic ones out there, this one has TONS of HIDDEN storage to help hold all those fake foods and kitchen items you obtain for pretend play.
I hope you and your family have a great holiday this weekend! Merry Christmas!
