Brielle’s Nursery: Yarn Wrapped Letters

in Crafts & DIY, Home Decor

Pink and Yellow Toddler Bedroom Tour - yarn wrapped letters | spotofteadesigns.com

I’ve already shared a few sneak peaks of Brielle’s nursery, including the yarn wrapped lamp makeover.

DIY Yarn Wrapped Lamp: Before and After | spotofteadesigns.com

Since she finally arrived, I’m able to share the next yarn wrapped post, which was a set of letters spelling her name!

Before starting, I asked Allie for her advice on what she learned in the process when she was making mine, but also checked out a few tutorials I found off Pinterest, like this, this, and this. I took the best of all the advice and styles and, in the end, I was very happy on how these came out!

The geometric style lover in me really preferred the horizontal striped look so I did my best to make sure to keep that straight and horizontal throughout each of the letters.

Now my baby girl has something to look at while getting her diaper changed and to practice learning how to spell her name when she starts to read and write!

Tips: To remove any of the hot glue strands that are bound to be attached to the letters during this process, heat them with a hair dryer at the end! Also, be prepared to spend a lot of time on each letter. I didn’t mind spending the time but they might take longer than you allot!

How to Hand Yarn Wrapped Letters | spotofteadesigns.com

To hang the letters, we bought small sawtooth hangers from Home Depot. They each came with two little nails that we were able to push right into the paper mache materials. I put hot glue under each of the nails before driving them in for a stable hanging piece.
