Winter basketball season is here and if you’re looking for a cute gift idea for your teammates I got you! Grab my free svg cut file and the supplies listed in this post and create a set of basketball bag tags for the whole team.

If you’ve been around here for a while, these basketball bag tags will look familiar! Yes, I have made softball bag tags before for my daughters’ softball teams. When the coach of our newly created travel basketball team asked if I’d help make something for the holidays, I immediately suggested this easy personalized craft for the team!
DIY Basketball Bag Tag Supplies:
- Basketball SVG Cut File (FREE!)
- Oracal 651 Permanent Vinyl (Pastel Orange and Black)
- 2.5 inch Clear Acrylic Discs
- Lobster Claw Clips
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut Basic Tools (Scraper and weeding hook)
- Craft Knife (needed to cut the hole out of the orange vinyl for the keychain)
These acrylic discs come with a protective layer on both sides. You’ll need to remove this before adding the vinyl on top. I also suggest to prep the lobster claw clips by adding the keyring component with the lobster claw, but don’t add that to the disc until a later step.
You can grab the FREE svg cut file for the basketball design in my supply list above. You’ll still need to add the name and number. I used the free font Soccer on dafont.com. Tip: Make sure to weld it together with the black basketball lines in Cricut Design Space, before sending it to cut.
Use the transfer tape to add the orange vinyl to the disc first. Use a craft knife to cut out the little hole for the keychain component. Then apply the black vinyl on top.
Once the vinyl layers are complete, add the keychain onto the disc to complete the basketball bag tag!
Make these for the whole team so the players can distinguish their gear bag from their teammates. They can easily be clipped onto the zippers of their gear bags.
