Year of Date Nights: March

in Crafts & DIY

In April 2012, 7 bridesmaids and I helped to host a bridal shower in which we gave the bride-to-be a gift to last the whole year. Read the opening explanation about “A Year of Date Nights” here.

I had seen this trend for a while now on Pinterest. People use paint chips for all sorts of crafting projects. If you remember, over a year ago, I hosted a Favorites Party in which I had made these tags using a paint chip piece as the base.

The theme of this month’s gift was pretty in tune with the paint chip concept. For March, we gave A & T a gift card to Home Depot. To present it, I created a Paint Chip Accordion Book in rainbow colors.

Here are all the interior pages crafted:

The pages described the gift and some ideas on what to use it on. The panels read:

PANEL 1: First Day of Spring March 20

PANEL 2: Sure, this month’s gift might be a little odd for most couples, but you are not most couples! Spend some quality time planning and plotting your spring project together!

PANEL 3: Allie, we all know you have a wish list of house upgrade projects and Tim loves to show off his handyman skills. Head to the HOME DEPOT and work as a team this spring! Here’s a little something to get you started!

PANEL 4: Pant a new color? Replace your hardware? Landscaping prep? Waterproofing? Storage and Organization needs? New flooring or lighting? DIY plumbing fixes? Energy efficiency? Weeding and planting? New décor accessories? Tool rental? Air filter replacement? Compare and save! Replace and replenish! Upgrade!

PANEL 5: We hope you’ll take pictures of your project in project and share your work with us!

I added accents from a Jolee’s Boutique Home Decorating sticker sheet. To complete, I poked a hole at the top and strung together with a ribbon.

It’s is adorable! Is there any chance you have a close up of what the sayings were on each paint chip?
