I know I know, Halloween and Thanksgiving haven’t even happened yet and I’m already jumping ahead and talking about Christmas! I am just SO excited for the holidays this year, especially with two toddlers along for the ride. We all know one of the first steps to getting ready for the holiday season, is the lovely holiday card which is why I’m happy to partner with Basic Invite on today’s post!
Some of you may not know this, but I actually went to school for graphic design so I have a deep appreciation for great typography and trendy designs. Upon scrolling through the selection at Basic Invite, I found just that. In fact, I have to warn you that if you go with Basic Invite, plan to spend a lot of time on their site. Not because it’s difficult (as the site is really user friendly) but because of all the beautiful stationery designs they have and ALL the customizing options you’re allowed!
Once you pick your design, you can use the already cute and color coordinated design they offer, or you can change the color of all different elements, scoot over text and even add text boxes in some spots. Example: not all the designs I picked included a spot for the date, so I added that on a few seen here!
They boast over 180 different color options (some of which includes silver and gold foil) allowing for a totally customizing experience for your holiday cards. There is almost unlimited color options and the instant preview screen was so helpful when designing. (PS check out my instagram video to see how beautiful these foil designs are!)
I was focused on Holiday Cards this season, but if you’re planning a wedding, party or are expecting a baby, they also offer invitations, announcements and thank yous for those occasions. If you’re planning to order a large quantity of stationery items, you will definitely want to check out their custom sample option. Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows you to order a printed sample of your actual invitation so you can see exactly how it will print, as well as, the paper quality before you place a huge order.
Can we talk paper quality for a second too? I was able to try out 6 different cards and made sure to mix in different paper textures they offer. I’d have to say that while I was happy with the signature matte and smooth coated paper finishes that were included in the price, the upgrade to the premium shimmer option I tried was beautiful too! I also opted to try a few trim option upgrades (bracket, rounded corners, and ticket shapes) and each were precisely cut without any rips or tears.
Besides all the customizing options of the cards themselves, they also offer over 40 different colors of envelopes for your special occasion. I only chose one sorbet (aka green) colored envelope but was really all about the patterned liners! (note these were for upgraded prices). And BONUS: all the envelopes are peel and stick so I don’t have to lick a single one!
Right now you can get 15% off everything with code 15FF51 so do the smart thing and order your holiday cards early! In case you love any of the designs I chose, you can find them all here by name and see how much I customized them through the site:Happy Hand Lettered Foil Card, Blessed Photo Card, Festive Script Foil Card, The Wonderful Year, Happy Everything Card and Warm Wishes.
