Ugh teething, one of the least favorite phases babies go through. As parents we want to help our kids in good times and rough ones and teething is much more of the latter. In an effort to help those mommas going through the same thing, or anticipate doing so soon (Hi Allie, Lauren, Courtney, Dayna, and Suzanne!), I wanted to share my top favorite products and tips we’ve used to comfort our teething babies.

My girls are rockstars at growing teeth. They just always seemed to be growing one right on top of another in that first year! I mean look at these pearly whites:
Hailey popped her bottom two out at 5 months and now has the cutest little chicklet mouth with 6 teeth. Pretty sure the next 2 are being worked on as we speak as her sleeping habits totally changed at night in the last two weeks and she CHEWS ON EVERYTHING! Here’s what had helped them get through these teething sessions:
Pacifier – Remember this photo of Brielle when she was announcing she was going to be a big sister? Yep, teething right there. Both my girls took a pacifier to sleep or when riding in the car but we didn’t want them to have it when out of the crib and awake…except during teething time. It seemed to give them both comfort during this passing phase and this momma is ok with this most basic solution during those times.
Nuby Teethe-eez Soft Silicone Teether with Bristles – When the pacifier wasn’t enough and they needed to chew on something we gave them this teether. They’d both grab onto the handle and just gnaw at the bristle end. I also love that the one we bought comes with a snap close container so I can throw it in the diaper bag without it touching everything else (before or after chewing!)
Infants’ Tylenol/Motrin Concentrated Infants’ Drops – When those first teeth or especially the top teeth are breaking on through, they stayed on a rotation of Tylenol or Motrin for relief. Without looking at my watch I could tell you what time it was as their moods would change at that 4 hour or 8 hour mark when the medicinal powers must’ve been wearing off. I recommend always keeping a stock of this in the house when you have little ones, for teething, colds or otherwise. TIP: Keep those disposable syringes that come with the medicines, even if the bottle it came with is empty. You’ll be able to use it next time around for a second dose without having to immediately clean the one that it comes with. OF COURSE, please don’t consider this as medical advice and consult with your doctor before administering!
Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablets – I swear these things have magical powers! Both my girls calmed down just by hearing us shake the container knowing they were going to get some relief in a matter of minutes. You put a little tablet under their tongue which quickly dissolves and seems to help comfort their teething pain.
Itzy Ritzy Chewable Mom Jewelry –For the first year of Brielle’s life, I could never wear jewelry since she was so grabby. This time around, my good friend, and fellow new mom, Jamie, gifted me an Itzy Ritzy chewable bead necklace to which Hailey and I were both big fans! Itzy Ritzy makes fashionable jewelry accessories for mom that are safe and teething friendly for the babes in tow.
The bead necklace is made of food grade silicone (similar to pacifiers) and has individual knots between each bead for added safety.
I’ve been able to wear my necklaces to compliment an outfit both when I want look dressier, or even to dress up your basic tank and shorts (#momiform).
For those who love bangles or bracelets, you’ll be happy to hear they have these too! I like that wearing one makes me feel dressed up and if she’s being super fussy I can pass it to her for two seconds as a teething toy.
These mom jewelry items would make a great gift for a new mom or mom-to-be because ultimately, lots of their photoshoots are going to end up looking like this!

My little Ella is only 2 months old but I will definitely be needing this list for when she starts teething. I’m not sure if you ever pumped milk or not, but if you did, did you ever try to freezer pop bags for your milk? A friend of mine recommended that when her son was teething.

I have pumped but have never made the pops before. Sounds messy :)
