With an ugly winter a brewin’ I knew we should plan some playdates with my sister and her boys before we were all housebound with snow. Last week their whole crew came down and I put together a little snowman themed playdate for the kids, because… well….I’m always up for a theme! This meant 5 kids under the age of 5, two of which are immobile babies. It was controlled chaos.
Snacks are always needed with this crew so I handed them a snowman string cheese, a popular item I brought to two holiday parties this season. Packaged string cheese + Sharpie.
And when they wanted something else, I went the somewhat healthier route and came up with a little snowman themed snack with items in the fridge. Wheat crackers, baby carrots and blueberries became a creative snowman making activity.
Brielle and her cousin Logan are two peas in a pod when they’re together. At only 5 months apart, they are attached at the hip and instantly play the second they are in each other’s presence. They both enjoyed munching on this snack tray.
Since these guys all know I’m the crafty aunt/mom, Brielle helped me put together a little snowman themed craft for them using items in our craft closet and a pack of white cupcake liners from the dollar store. I drew three little dots on each piece of paper and told them to rub their glue sticks over the dots. In theory we’d glue our cupcake liners over these dots then decorate the page with lots of other stickers and paper scrap accessories. Snowmen right?
Check out these “snowmen” made by Blake and Brielle. An abstract take on the snowman theme and I love it!
And a get together wouldn’t be complete without an attempt at a group shot. Sure a perfect photo of everyone looking at the same time would be great, but aren’t these outtakes even better?
I see lots more themed playdates in or future!
