Sneak Peek: My Toddlers’ Easter Baskets

in Celebrations, Easter

DISCLOSURE: I was compensated with a product sample by NameBubbles.com for this post, but the opinions are all mine and not that of the company! I LOVE their labels and have been using them on many of our products for years. In addition links shown may include affiliate links. Know that Spotofteadesigns.com only promotes products which have been personally tested and ones I’d stand behind. To learn more, please review my disclosure policy here.

Long time readers know that while my girls do get to enjoy the occasional special treat, I’m not a big “candy for the kids” kind of person. With the Easter season upon us, I’ve been keeping my eye out for goodies to fill their Easater baskets that don’t involve chocolate bunnies or sugary marshmallows. Take a peek what I’m including in my 3.5 year old’s and 1.5 year old’s Easter baskets this year!

I shared what I put in Brielle’s basket last year when she was 2.5 and it seemed to resonate with readers.  Another year, another basket! Maybe I’m a traditionalist but I like when the items given FIT inside the basket. I see so many images where they’re giving full on boxed items that surround the basket but that’s just not for me.

  • Chapstick – Hailey doesn’t say chapstick but will smack her lips together and point to where we keep it on the counter. They each will get their own so we can lessen some germ sharing!
  • Grow-A-Towel – Magic for a few minutes! Again, found in the $1 bin at Michaels.
  • Parking Pal magnet – It’s a magnet you attach to the side of your car that includes a handprint so kids know where to put their hand to stay near the car and for parking lot safety. It’s VERY effective and now addicting! We currently use one on Hailey’s side of the car since Brielle would climb in on that side while I put Hailey in her side. But now Brielle wants one of her side when Derek’s with us and they both enter on their own perspective sides.
  • Toddler Vitamins – Brielle currently takes a whole one while Hailey takes a half.
  • Sunscreen
  • Bunny Headbands – saved this from our Easter party shoot

  • Notepad – Brielle’s on a Minions kick these days so a plain spiral notebook will give her plenty of space to doddle and practice her letters while enjoying that Minions look.
  • Moana – We aren’t a big screen time family, but just this year she started sitting longer to watch ½ a movie before bedtime. She’s also become more familiar with characters due to kids at school so we have pulled out our old collection of DVDs and plan to add more for holidays and gift reasons. Current favorites at this age? Shrek, Despicable Me, Tangled and Frozen (shocker!).
  • Books – We’re big fans of reading in this house and I firmly feel you can never have enough books! This year Brielle is getting Let’s Play by Herve Tullet, after loving Mix it Up, the author’s other interactive book that is a playful way to engage kids in color mixing. Hailey will be getting Five Bouncing Bunnies, a short and sweet counting book I got at a Scholastic book fair last winter.
  • Crayola Bath Dropz – to make bath time more fun! I heard they don’t stain so looking forward to testing that out!

  • Shutterfly personalized puzzle – Brielle is REALLY into puzzles lately so I took advantage of one of Shutterfly’s freebie offers once weekend and quickly put together this one featuring recently family photos. It includes smaller pieces than what she’s used to but she can use the challenge, right?
  • Personalized labels – Hailey outgrows her shoes so fast so I LOVE their shoe label styles, such as this elephant set, as they not only label both parts but help distinguish right and left. Brielle needed a refresh of her stock so she’s getting the very cute sweetheart collection, which again includes functional shoe labels!

  • Play Pack – I always throw these in stockings and Easter baskets as they’re a great value for a little bit of entertainment, especially at a restaurant!
  • Plastic bracelets – They’re both starting the obsession with purses and jewelry. These were found in $1 bins at Michaels.

Other ideas that I won’t be including because I have so many already: sidewalk chalk, hair accessories, and play doh.

I still might include some more things as I keep my eyes open the next few weeks but at least I know this is a good start and the girls will be excited for their new goodies!
