Well folks, you have reached the end of the posts about the girls’ Under the Sea Birthday party!
Hope it wasn’t too painful to sit through all that sweetness I’ve been sharing the past few weeks! Scroll below to see the photos and click on any links shown to see more details about the DIY / Baking projects completed for their big day!
Invitations
I will tell you that it’s super hard to find invitations for 2 kids hosting a joint birthday who are not twins! I ended up landing on this one from Shutterfly where I added photos from the DIY Balloon Backdrop photoshoot we did in July.
Food & Drink
We did the typical BBQ of hamburgers and hot dogs for the actual meal. But I got creative when it came to the cupcake desserts. I used OREO cookies and different sized M&Ms to create little sea turtles cupcakes!
When it came to the girls, I made them oversized mini cakes so there was room for those typical numbered birthday candles.
Yum!
They both loved it!
Decorations
For the decorations, I put all my energy in the dessert table, which included an octopus hanging overhead!
A photo garland documenting their first year together as #birthdaytwins hung front and center of the coordinated table set.
For Brielle’s 1st birthday party, I created a photobook using photos with lots of white space to use as a guestbook. I did the same for Hailey.
Hailey’s smash cake was eaten at a high chair with a ribbon scrap garland I created!
Activities
Instead of a pinata I created a punch box which let each kid have a turn grabbing a prize or two!
I added some necklaces and other little trinkets to the sand box and let everyone dig in for buried treasure. This was a bit hit for the two older boys!
And these two just loved “wearing” the necklaces! (Obviously want to mention that this should be a supervised activity since these beaded necklaces are chocking hazard for youngsters!)
Favors
With an under the sea themed party, I thanked each child for making a big splash at our celebration with these cute little sandals tote bags.
Inside I included a game of (go) Fish, some sunnies, snacks and a colorful pencil. No one missed the typical candy treats!
Thanks so much for sticking with me these past few weeks as I shared this Under the Sea party with you, my loyal readers. The weather was HOT but the rain held off until everyone left, and we have tons of photos capturing all the fun the girls had with their family for their first (of I’m sure many) joint birthday party!
