Scrapbooking with Memorabilia

in Celebrations, Crafts & DIY, Papercrafts

Memorabilia, as in ticket stubs, programs and labels, have always found a place in my scrapbooks. It helps to document the dates/locations in a unique way.

Here are a few different ways I’ve included memorabilia to help tell my story:

My Funny Valentine (2006)

Back in the day, when D bought me cards for my birthday or Valentine’s Day, he used to hunt out the most ridiculous, non related card he could find. This year’s birthday card included a GI Joe Happy 5th birthday card and a Valentine’s day card talking about dog poop. I chose to keep these cards whole and create a little pocket for them for future reading.

@25 (2007)

It’s weird to say that this layout documenting my life at 25, was 5 years ago now! For my birthday, my coworkers gave me a bouquet of flowers, cookbook and a few other goodies. I kept the notes attached to the flower bouquet and filled in the other area of the layout with some descriptions of my life at that age.

Music (2007)

While in our 30s, D and I still attend quite a few music shows for bands that are still popular with kids that can pretty much be our children! We sit in the 21+ section and watch the parents faces as they watch their kids moshing and all the other craziness that happens at these shows. Here’s a page that included a much of my tickets from these shows.

Happy Birthday 2 Me (2008)

This was the first year I started the tradition of treating myself to a massage for my birthday. I thought it made more sense to scrapbook the receipt than a picture of me half-naked faced down on a massage table. :)

(supplies: patterned paper: Doodlebug, Stickers: Jolee’s Boutique, Making Memories, Martha Stewart Crafts)

Snail Mail (2008)

Each year, I get more and more photo scrapbook cards. In recent years, I have cropped them up (to only keep the photo part) and included them in a pocket page at the end of my book. In 2008, I saved a few stamped from cards received and used them as a border along the top of my pocket.

Merry Christmas (2010)

For Christmas 2 years ago, we had decided not to buy presents for one another, but just do stockings. Little did I know that this stipulation would cause me to go on a scavenger hunt in the house, where he hid my full-sized presents that wouldn’t fit inside the stocking. To scrapbook this holiday, I documented the time we woke up, the stocking display, and a small pocket to hold the note that explained the hunt.

(supplies: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey, Christmas sticker: K&Company)
