We’ve finally hit the last post in this series! I wanted to capture Brielle’s first year with monthly spreads and highlight other memorable events in a single scrapbook for her to review in the future. I was pretty on target but got a little behind when the holidays hit. I’m pretty proud that I was able to do all the pages before she turned 18 months! Here are the remaining pages including the last one of her first year and some birthday adventures! You can find all of her pages here in: Brielle’s Baby Scrapbook:
This month Brielle FINALLY started to sleep with longer sleep stretches consistently! Two more teeth broke through so now she had 8 teeth! We always get comments on how happy a baby she was with her big smile and practicing to give kisses. After going to music class for a while, she now started to recognize songs, knowing which ones to bounce to and which ones to wave. Not only did we celebrate her birthday this month but also her cousin Brinley’s!

On Brielle’s actual birthday, Derek took a half day and we spent the day at the beach! She wasn’t a huge fan of the sand but started to warm up to it. It was just fun to spend the day as our little family, just like the day was spent a year earlier.

After a day at the beach we went home to enjoy her first ever taste of sugar with a nice ice cream cake! She loved the cake, digging right in with both hands and I got that messy cake face ever mom wants!
It was only the three of us that day so in order to capture these shots, I set up our Joby GP3 GorillaPod SLR-Zoom Flexible Tripod on the kitchen table and plugged in my favorite Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote. I got to see all her reactions in person (and not behind the lens) and review what I got later when she was in bed. I HIGHLY recommend a wireless remote like this when you have little kids around!

You’ve already seen the details of Brielle’s pinwheel first birthday party. This two page spread was to document the highlights of the things mommy made for her, the friends and family that came to celebrate and to capture the adorable moments she shared that sunny day last August when she turned one! On the left side of the page I created a stacked cake look with the photos, topping them off with the Glittered “ONE” letters we used on her high chair garland from her actual birthday!

Since there was only one back page left in Brielle’s album, I picked out a favorite single photo of her from her birthday party and some pretty paisley paper. It highlight my smiley, happy girl on a layout full of “stuff” and lots of “white space.” I love how it came out and how it shows off that pretty smile of hers!
