When it comes to kids parties, there’s one thing for certain: they love sugary sweets! Lollipops are one way to bring color to your party theme and they always look better standing up on the dessert table. Check out one way to create a DIY rainbow lollipop stand for your next birthday party!
This DIY rainbow lollipop stand comes together easily with just a few supplies and only a few minutes to spare:
- Styrofoam Disc shapes
- Crepe Streamers
- Hot Glue
- Glue Stick
- Tissue Paper
- Scissors
I’ve had these Styrofoam discs for about 2 years now and have used them for multiple party themes. They are easy to recover for different themes with the help of cheap materials, like tissue paper and crepe streamers.
First, cover the tops of each disc with at least 2 layers of white tissue paper, using a glue stick to adhere. (I used the girl’s glue stick for this one which goes on purple but dries clear.) Trim with about an inch margin around then cut slits. This will allow you to add glue to the side and fold them down to cover the seam. Don’t worry, if this looks messy as you’ll be covering up these fringed edges later.
Next, cut a piece of crepe paper that fits around the diameter of the disc. Use hot glue to adhere it to the bottom of the lowest tier. Cut a second piece the same size, however, before glue it on, fold it several times and cut little slits to create a fringe look.
Glue this fringe over the other layer just glued onto the disc.
Repeat these steps, moving up about an inch up until it’s fully covered.
Repeat on the other disc shape until fully covered.
On the party day, stack these discs on top of one another and stick your lollipops in. Tip: use chalk to make markings where you want the lollipop before you make a hole.
This DIY rainbow lollipop stand comes together easily and quickly allowing you to get back to other party tasks. Place your lollipop stand front and center at your dessert table, or off to the side to add to your coordinated look.
This rainbow lollipop stand would work perfectly for lots of themes, like Trolls, rainbow, unicorn or fiesta! I used this one for a Care Bears party styled for Wholesale Party Supplies.
