Back in January, something exciting happened. I took a pregnancy test in the morning and it came back positive! We were officially expecting number two! I knew I wanted to come up with a cute way to tell Derek so while he was at work, I made a little something to tell him the news.
When he came home at lunch, I told him I wanted to show him the craft project I made today for Brielle and showed him my onesie stating “One of Two” in iron on letters. His reaction? “Two of what?” (pause) “Are you pregnant?” Yes! We had been trying but he didn’t know I had also been testing. After a doctor’s visit to confirm everything was going as expected I started dreaming up a way to share the news with family and friends. Like most second time parents, I wanted my first to be part of our formal announcement.
I set up a little photo session with her wearing the onesie and tried to get my squirmy toddler to sit still, look at me and smile to get just ONE shot that would work. The above is a collection of some of the non color corrected outtakes from that photoshoot. Sure, Brielle, let’s get in the laundry basket! Great, try to include the growth chart as part of the announcement! That girl is full of great ideas.
Once getting a good shot of my happy girl, I went right to one of my favorite sources: Tiny Prints! You already know I’m a fan of the site, having had one of their invites at my baby shower, Brielle’s first birthday, and last year’s holiday cards featuring their beautiful designs. It was the first place I turned to see what options there were for this type of fun news.
Low and behold under the “Announcements” section I found this: Pregnancy Announcements. Did you guys know they made pregnancy announcements? I’m a longtime fan of the brand, but I did not!
I chose this Big Sister design, adding in a photo of Brielle wearing that crafted onesie and I was ready to order.
It was a grey/white/pink color palette with a chalkboard look. I previously purchased a chalkboard themed birth announcement and first birthday party invitations so it’s a look I’m drawn to!
I opted for the scalloped border for an extra special touch! Ain’t it Purdy?
I am SO happy with how these came out and Brielle was proud of them too! (Ignore the pacifier in her mouth here. It was a bad teething day!)
I foresee more baby related posts (nursery, scrapbook, gender reveal) in this blog’s future while we await the arrival of our August 2015 little bean! Hope you’re as excited as we are! :)
PS YES I am losing my craft room to the new baby but don’t worry, we’ve already found a spot for the craft stash which will be revealed here at a later date!

I hope your new spot is better than mine. I used to have a whole lovely sewing room now I have 1/4 of the unfinished basement which is very nice in the summer temperature wise but winter is rough. Plus I miss looking out the window while I work.

It’s not as nice as having my own room for sure but I think it will work out. I do like that I’ll have a tv in my new space!
