Pastel Halloween Mantle

in Celebrations, Crafts & DIY, Halloween / Fall, Home Decor, SVG Cut Files

Step away from the traditional orange and black color palette of Halloween and try your hand at pastels! With a little help of a spray paint can, you can change the look of a traditionally scary characters to make their look a little softer. Check out one styled pastel Halloween mantle that includes plenty of DIY elements and die cut banners that fit the Halloween theme!

When assigned “Pastel Halloween Party” by Wholesale Party Supplies, I began pondering all the reasons to throw a Halloween party.

I could’ve gone the kid focused genre, stepped up the fun to make it adults only but I eventually landed on another category: moms night out. Moms need fun just as much as everyone else in the house and I styled a Witches Night Out celebration around this pastel palette.

In styling this party, I quickly began to love the look, especially the once scary skulls that were now spray painted in pastel colors.

No bones about it, I KNEW this would be the look for our mantle this October.  This mantle came together easily as I was able to reuse some of these party elements, shop my home for past DIY projects and complete the look with some new die cut items I designed.

Friends may remember this chicken wire frame that we use for our Christmas cards each year, which I ended up painted white for a more neutral décor.

The skulls and their little witch hats were all part of the Witches Night Out celebration.

To give a little interest, I lifted a select few on pink pastel cake plates and cupcake stands found at Target’s dollar spot a year or two ago, and these DIY spell books from my Hocus Pocus party. These were and still are some of my favorite DIY projects I’ve ever made, and one of the cheapest too, as they were just thrift store books, paper towels and plastic bugs!

The die cut cat and skulls with cross bones banners strung across the top were quickly cut on my Cricut. Grab the free SVG cut file to remake for your mantle!
