Yes I design. I design in graphics programs because I went to school for art. Sometimes I feel like I have to “get back to my roots” with other types of fine arts, even if I don’t have the greatest confidence in those areas.
I have this “30 before 30” list with 30 hopefully realistic things I’d like to accomplish before I turn 30 in February 2012. One item on my list included “Make a painting for my house.” I decided to attempt those Jackson Pollock style paintings for a large blank space in my bathroom.

I was a dork. I took my pantone swatch book to match the colors of the shower curtain and then matched them to paint at the craft store. Making the painting was a little more tough than it seemed. How do you try to make something to look like you weren’t trying? Well in the end I just had to stop and walk away. I wasn’t too pleased with it until I came back the next day when it was dry and brought it to the bedroom. Now I’m happy with the result! Try one in your house!
