Mermaid Party | Utensil Pouches

in Birthday, Celebrations, Crafts & DIY

When it comes to parties we all know we need food and drinks but you don’t want to forget the tableware and serve ware! Instead of just laying the utensils on the flat napkin, consider going the extra mile to dress up these much needed tools in cute and creative utensil pouches!

Here’s one cute design that transforms a paper treat pouch into a cute way to store utensils for a Mermaid themed birthday party!

Supplies:

  • Treat bags
  • Clear beach stamps and acrylic block
  • Silver pigment ink
  • Embossing powder
  • Heat tool (similar)
  • Baker’s twine
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler

First start with your treat bag. Create a diagonal cut on the front layer only, to expose the opening.

Next, stamp your seashell stamp design on the front of the treat bag with a silver pigment ink.

Sprinkle embossing powder over this wet stamped design.

Hit this area with your heat tool and watch the magic happen! The powder will harden to a raised embossed look that glisten and helps make your table sparkle!

Tie a length of baker’s twine around the top of the pouch to add a little color.

Once cooled, insert your party tools!

For this mermaid birthday party theme, I included a folded napkin, paper straw, fork, knife, spoon and plastic silver wand inside the utensil pouches.

The silver wand can be used a drink stirrer or just a cute party favor.

These utensil pouches helped add some sparkle to the table!
