Mermaid Party Printables And a Party Food Hack

Birthday, Celebrations, Crafts & DIY, Dessert, Kid Friendly, Printables, Recipes

Mermaid parties are on trend these days as who doesn’t love the ocean, shiny jewels and beautiful long hair? When it comes to the sweets, you don’t have to be a pro baker to come up with cute mermaid party desserts! See how to turn store bought cupcakes and a bottle of bubbles into yummy desserts and fun party favors with the help of free mermaid party printables!

I recently had the opportunity to style a mermaid party for Wholesale Party Supplies and my girls were loving all the aqua and purple themed goodies in our home! While I do like to bake and create cute crafts, I’m not a cookie decorator and wasn’t up for giving it a go this round.

Instead I picked up some store bought cupcakes and made a popular no bake dessert that I spruced up with the help of my mermaid party printables!

You may have seen those fun sprinkle mixes in stores that are full of colored sugars, shimmer pearls and shaped sprinkles. I made my own with the help of a few small and affordable sprinkles packs on sale at Michaels. I sprinkled them on my cupcakes and homemade green dyed Rice Krispies Treats to add that mermaid sparkle.

I grabbed two sizes of cookie cutters and got to work cutting up my sticky treats into star shapes.

They looked so shiny and tasted so yummy with that extra crunch!

The store bought cupcakes got a little upgrade with the help of this custom sprinkle mix, a second cupcake liner and my mermaid tail cupcake toppers.

When it comes to sending your guests home from your special day, one idea would be to gift them a hint of the sea with a pack of bubbles!

Party hacks:
- Use parade wearables as the decor, like these festival hats hung on the window curtain rod for the backdrop
- Single serve cereal cups means no need to do dishes!
- Photo props make a great centerpiece! Stick those themed props in a glass vase and add a bow tie!
- A few drops of green food dye makes for magical green milk!
- Plan a fun activity! See yesterday's reel for a fun printable leprechaun scavenger hunt from my friend @indigoinkb
