As a crafter, I know how long it takes to make some handmade gifts. Items I receive need more than the few minutes of love I can give it, so I’m happy to post these Handmade with Love posts that showcase great handmade cards or gifts I have received.
Today, I want to share a very special Handmade with Love entry. As my readers are well aware, I was involved in several weddings this year, including my own. Through these events, I was introduced to many new Esty vendors. (For those of you who don’t know, Etsy is a site that sells strictly handmade items and is a great source for wedding items!) As the holiday season is here, I thought I’d share a few of the handmade gifts received or given through Etsy that might be good ideas for the holidays.
Snobish Design – The above necklace was my “honorary bridesmaid” gift from my friend Aimee. I was asked to be in her May 19th wedding, but I was already scheduled to be in Allie’s wedding the same date. I helped where I could, including choosing this necklace for her bridesmaids! Aimee surprised me when sending me one and I’ve been enjoying it ever since. The card that came with the gift states “In SnobishDesign, each piece is given individual attention handcrafted with tons of love, professional technique, and high end material.”

Thea’s Jewely Box – Allie chose a purple and grey color palette for her wedding. The bridesmaids dresses were a cute, grey design from The Limited with a v-neck, so she focused on filling that v-neck space with a pretty necklace in a purple hue. She chose the above necklace and earring set for us bridesmaids.

Cotton Candy by Natalie – My MOH Allie is a world traveler who totes around her fancy DSLR camera on all her adventures. I chose to get her a pretty new camera strap from this store so she’s be photographing the world in style. Once I get myself one of these fancy cameras (maybe this Christmas) I’ll be heading back to Etsy for my own custom strap!

Brighter Day – I came across Whitney’s Etsy site after seeing her tutorial for this bow clutch. The tutorial made me want to make it and also to learn more about this blog! After surfing around some more, I came across her Etsy site with the words “bridesmaid clutch” written all over. You can design your own clutch choosing a style, interior color, exterior color and even the flower embellishment! I was game and so I contacted the very sweet Whitney who wrote me back almost immediately. After a few emails and a paypal payment, I was on my way to getting custom, handmade clutches for my girls! These bags use high quality fabrics and, in my opinion, look like a professional bag you’d buy at the stores. I picked a grey damask pattern for inside as a special touch! (did I mention I also bought one for myself?)
