When I became a mom I made the decision to stop making a yearly scrapbook of my life (which is something I’ve done since I was 14) and instead decided to create yearly digital photobooks. I did, however, also decide to document my first daughter’s first year in scrapbook form that she could have someday.
You can see all the pages included in Brielle’s scrapbook here, which is mostly a spread of my favorite photos of each month, special occasions and some select topics like mom & me, dad & me and her nursery.
Since I don’t want any mom guilt for treating my second with a different focus than I did my first, I am determined to make Hailey a scrapbook of her first year as well. Here are the first few pages in this ongoing series:
First Ultrasound
Since we didn’t yet know the gender of our little bean when I created this page, I wanted to keep this first layout showcasing my first ultrasound in gender neutral tones. Mission accomplished!
This page includes a library pocket from an old Martha Stewart Crafts line that is perfect for some hidden journaling.
Supplies: Patterned Paper: Martha Stewart Crafts | Embellishments: Jolee’s Boutique, Martha Stewart Crafts | Tools: Martha Stewart Crafts Punch Around the Page.
Pregnancy Announcement
Even though this is Hailey’s scrapbook, this page featuring our Tiny Prints pregnancy announcement showcases our then 18 month old Brielle and her “One of Two” onesie.
I love the textures and patterns that are mixed into this page. Doilies? Houndstooth? Chalkboard art? Yes please!
