Whether you’re planning a trip to Disney World or your daughter is just Mickey Mouse obsessed, it’s time to get crafting and make her a felt Mickey Mouse headband! This no sew craft is comfortable to wear and features one of the most recognizable shapes in the world – Mickey Mouse!
A few years ago I created these fun door hangers for each of my daughter’s rooms that still hang there today.
They brighten up our hallway and I knew I wanted to recreate that felt flower look on a handband in the future. Well the future is now and I went Disney themed!
To make a felt Mickey Mouse headband, you will need:
- Black Felt
- Plastic Headband
- Scissors (these are my favorite for cutting felt!)
- 2 small and 2 big circles cut out of paper
- Hot Glue
First I laid 2 of the smaller circles onto the larger circle to create my Mickey Mouse head template. Use this to cut two Mickey Mouse heads out of the black felt. Cut an additional 6 large circles out of black felt.
Fold each of the 6 black circles in half once and use a small dot of hot glue to secure. Fold again and add another dot.
Repeat the above folding steps with all 6 circles.
Glue 4 of the folded circle “petals” onto one of the Mickey head shapes. Tip: pay attention to which way they are laid down to create a repeat pattern with the folds of the “petals”. Glue the remaining two “petals” on the top to complete your 3D felt Mickey Head shape.
Glue this shape onto a headband and glue the other Mickey Mouse head shape onto the back. Basically the headband is sandwiched between the two Mickey head shapes.
Isn’t it cute? If you happen to create this fun no sew Mickey Mouse headband at home, tag me or send me an email! I’m always looking for more people to feature in my annual Reader’s Feature!
