I’m happy to share that this is my SIXTH (yes 6th) year working with New Jersey Lottery to inspire my readers with DIY gifts featuring their fun holiday games! This year they are featuring four festive tickets jam packed with over $41 million in prizes!
Just take a gander at these fun games and prizes!
- $1 Sleigh Bills (top prize: $500)
- $2 Snow Me the Money (top prize: $10,000)
- $5 Peppermint Payout (top prize: $200,000)
- $10 Winter Wishes (top prize: $500,000)
Can you imagine if your child’s teacher or busdriver, your spunky coworker or your father-in-law won one of those hefty prizes off a single ticket? That would be a Merry Christmas indeed!
And since I’m a little ‘extra’ when it comes to gifting, I’ve come up with yet another fun and creative way to give a little scratch-off magic this season. Introducing the In Case of Emergency Break Glass framed gift!
Here’s what you need:
- Frame (I got mine at the dollar store)
- In Case of Emergency Printable Tag
- Cardstock
- Ribbon
- Accent pick, if desired
- Temporary adhesive
First, open the back of your frame. You can use a trusty tool, like a butter knife, for this step.
Cut a piece of cardstock to fit inside the frame as the backer for your gift. Use temporary adhesive to adhere the fun holiday game tickets on this cardstock insert. Tip: make sure to only apply it on blank areas, not near the barcodes!
Stick the paper insert back into the frame. If you decide to instead use a shadow box as your base of this gift, this would be the time to also fill the bottom of your shadow box with your “money” themed candies, like 100 Grand, Payday or chocolate coins.
Reassemble the back of the frame.
Now it’s time to dress up the frame! Tie a red ribbon around it and add the printable tag on top. Stick an accent piece, like this holly and berries pick to dress it up.
There’s also room to use a pen and sign the tag so they know who gave them this awesome gift full of New Jersey Lottery Holiday Games!
If you end up making one of these, please tag me!
