Emergency Frame Gift with NJ Lottery Holiday Games

in Celebrations, Christmas, Crafts & DIY, Printables

Here’s one holiday gift idea you’re going to hope they break! Check out this “In Case of Emergency” Frame Gift filled with New Jersey Lottery Holiday Scratch-Offs that’s sure to be a hit with any 18+ recipient on your holiday list!

DISCLOSURE: Tickets and compensation were supplied by The New Jersey Lottery for this post, but the opinions are all mine! In addition, some of the links in this post contain affiliate links, which come at no cost to you. Know that I only promote products I personally use and stand behind. I’m happy to share that this is my SIXTH (yes 6th) year working with New Jersey Lottery to inspire my readers with DIY gifts featuring their fun holiday games! This year they are featuring four festive tickets jam packed with over $41 million in prizes!

Just take a gander at these fun games and prizes!

  • $1 Sleigh Bills (top prize: $500)
  • $2 Snow Me the Money (top prize: $10,000)
  • $5 Peppermint Payout (top prize: $200,000)
  • $10 Winter Wishes (top prize: $500,000)

Can you imagine if your child’s teacher or busdriver, your spunky coworker or your father-in-law won one of those hefty prizes off a single ticket? That would be a Merry Christmas indeed!

And since I’m a little ‘extra’ when it comes to gifting, I’ve come up with yet another fun and creative way to give a little scratch-off magic this season. Introducing the In Case of Emergency Break Glass framed gift!

Here’s what you need:

  • Frame (I got mine at the dollar store)
  • In Case of Emergency Printable Tag
  • Cardstock
  • Ribbon
  • Accent pick, if desired
  • Temporary adhesive

First, open the back of your frame. You can use a trusty tool, like a butter knife, for this step.

Cut a piece of cardstock to fit inside the frame as the backer for your gift. Use temporary adhesive to adhere the fun holiday game tickets on this cardstock insert. Tip: make sure to only apply it on blank areas, not near the barcodes!

Stick the paper insert back into the frame. If you decide to instead use a shadow box as your base of this gift, this would be  the time to also fill the bottom of your shadow box with your “money” themed candies, like 100 Grand, Payday or chocolate coins.

Reassemble the back of the frame.

Now it’s time to dress up the frame! Tie a red ribbon around it and add the printable tag on top. Stick an accent piece, like this holly and berries pick to dress it up.

There’s also room to use a pen and sign the tag so they know who gave them this awesome gift full of New Jersey Lottery Holiday Games!

If you end up making one of these, please tag me!

5 Tips to Make Shell Canvases like this: 🐚 Draw ou 5 Tips to Make Shell Canvases like this:
🐚 Draw out a stencil of your preferred shape. It's optional to paint the shape itself, but even a rough pencil line will keep you on task
🐚 Use strong glue and a lot of it! I used E6000 glue and ended up having to get more than what you see here.
🐚 Flip the shells over! There are some cool colors on the insides that may match better than the top side.
🐚 Clean and dry the shells thoroughly. Sorry, but I have no tips about this process as my mom had these ones for year from past trips, but you don't want some smelly shells hanging in your home!
🐚 Don't skip on those little shells as those minis are perfect to fill in the gaps of the collages.

Hello fellow readers! If you're looking for some r Hello fellow readers! If you're looking for some recommendations for historical fiction reads, here are 5 of my favorites I enjoyed last year that I'd recommend to readers who like this genre (with no spoilers):
.
The Frozen River by Arial Lawhorn – Takes place in the post American Revolution times, narrated by a midwife sharing her challenges in this profession and not being taken seriously but still having people trust her medical authority. It includes a murder and trial, which just reiterates how crazy it was to be a woman back then and their lack of rights!
.
The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel – Like many of her books, this author focuses on the French aspect of WWII, but this time as those who helped forge documents to help Jewish children cross the border.
.
The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Miessner – Follow Susan Whalen who comes to San Francisco in 1906 as a mail order bride only to get into the middle of a complicated life after marrying a man she never met and things she discovers during a nature disaster in her state.
.
The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali – Starts in the 1950s in Iran where we meet two friends and follow their story through the historic time of this country. This fictional read shares more about the culture and limitations of women and those who try to change the government while struggling to maintain friendships.
.
The Rose Code by Kate Quinn – An assortment of female friendships during WWII as they work to break secret codes by the German military and continues to follow their stories through the years.
.
If you have a suggestion on another in this genre, please leave it in the comments so I can add to my TBR!
