Easter Basket Ideas for Tween Girls – Age 9 and 11

in Celebrations, Easter, Favorite Products, Lifestyle

No matter how old your kids get, moms still love to shower their kids with presents at different times of the year including helping the Easter bunny fill the Easter basket. Check out what I put in the Easter baskets for my tween girls who are now 9 and 11 years old.

Let me first reiterate my theory about Easter baskets and Christmas stockings – the items must fit inside! I also don’t see the point in getting a new physical basket every year so if you see my baskets from years past, they are all packed in these same square purple and pink baskets that fit lots of goodies!

And since I shared with their vacation surprise scavenger hunt that we’re headed to Universal Studios Orlando over spring break, some of the things in this year’s basket are related to our trip!

  • Lego separator tool – Lego is still a fun activity in this house and these tools will help encourage more creative play!
  • Fujifilm INSTAX MINI Instant Film Twin Pack – My oldest has a Instax mini camera so a refill is always in order for more cute shots
  • Instax photo album – A cute rainbow album to hold all those printed pics!
  • 24 game – My youngest loves games and especially ones that exercise the brain. I thought this math focused game, recommended by a friend, would be good for the plane or hotel during our trip!
  • 3d pen replacement filament refill – My youngest got the Scribed 3d printing pen for her birthday but was in need of more plastics.
  • Bunch of Balloons Reusable Water Balloons – Gonna try these out at the hotel pool!

  • Touchland Hand Sanitizer – My middle schooler informed me that girls use these before/after lunch so I was ok adding these to the basket.
  • Kitsch Satin Heatless Hair Curler Set – Heatless Curls – My girls didn’t inherit my curls so this might something fun to try for special occasions.
  • Burt’s Bees chapstick – Tween girls can never have enough chapsticks!
  • Hair ties – Never enough for these athletes!

  • Flip flips – A must every year for the upcoming pool season!
  • Harry Potter Hermoine Leviosa Not Leviosa T-Shirt – I had shared how we’re going to Universal Studios Orlando for spring break and visiting the Harry Potter parks so I thought these subtle shirts would be welcomed for our upcoming trip.
  • Harry Potter Hogwarts Herbology T-Shirt – Another subtle shirt that’s cute!
  • Pink and Red Floral Shirt – they love a ribbed top!
  • Seashells Oversized Graphic T-shirt – a classic to wear at the beach this summer!

  • Nutella breadstick cups – mom never buys these so this might help perpetuate the idea of the Easter bunny with these in the basket
  • Gatorade powders – Travel softball season is coming so these powders are good to throw in the cooler and add to any water bottle when they need a little more flavor.
  • Minions Goldfish – Again the theme of this pack plays off our upcoming trip to Universal!

5 Tips to Make Shell Canvases like this: 🐚 Draw ou 5 Tips to Make Shell Canvases like this:
🐚 Draw out a stencil of your preferred shape. It's optional to paint the shape itself, but even a rough pencil line will keep you on task
🐚 Use strong glue and a lot of it! I used E6000 glue and ended up having to get more than what you see here.
🐚 Flip the shells over! There are some cool colors on the insides that may match better than the top side.
🐚 Clean and dry the shells thoroughly. Sorry, but I have no tips about this process as my mom had these ones for year from past trips, but you don't want some smelly shells hanging in your home!
🐚 Don't skip on those little shells as those minis are perfect to fill in the gaps of the collages.

Hello fellow readers! If you're looking for some r Hello fellow readers! If you're looking for some recommendations for historical fiction reads, here are 5 of my favorites I enjoyed last year that I'd recommend to readers who like this genre (with no spoilers):
.
The Frozen River by Arial Lawhorn – Takes place in the post American Revolution times, narrated by a midwife sharing her challenges in this profession and not being taken seriously but still having people trust her medical authority. It includes a murder and trial, which just reiterates how crazy it was to be a woman back then and their lack of rights!
.
The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel – Like many of her books, this author focuses on the French aspect of WWII, but this time as those who helped forge documents to help Jewish children cross the border.
.
The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Miessner – Follow Susan Whalen who comes to San Francisco in 1906 as a mail order bride only to get into the middle of a complicated life after marrying a man she never met and things she discovers during a nature disaster in her state.
.
The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali – Starts in the 1950s in Iran where we meet two friends and follow their story through the historic time of this country. This fictional read shares more about the culture and limitations of women and those who try to change the government while struggling to maintain friendships.
.
The Rose Code by Kate Quinn – An assortment of female friendships during WWII as they work to break secret codes by the German military and continues to follow their stories through the years.
.
If you have a suggestion on another in this genre, please leave it in the comments so I can add to my TBR!
