If you’re planning a big WHObilation party or a Grinch moving watching party, make sure to model your decorations after the citizens of Whoville! Don’t let that Christmas tree stand tall, but rather in the signature Dr. Seuss style that curves over without falling over.
DIY Whoville Grinch Tree Supplies:
- Tomato cage
- Chicken wire
- Green feather boas or green garlands
- Christmas ornaments
- Ornament hooks
- Wire cutters
- Needle nose pliers
- Optional but recommended: Work gloves
First stand the tomato cage upside down on the flat circular side as the bottom of the tree. Curve the pronged ends over slightly to begin to form the Whoville tree shape.
Wrap chicken wire around the form and use wire cutters to cut. Use gloves to squeeze the chicken wire around the shape to continue to build the form.
Once satisfied, wrap the shape with green feather boas or green garlands.
Decorate the tree with ornaments to fill in any gaps or dress it up like a Christmas tree. Make sure to add one hanging off the tip who enhance that curves shape!
Stage your DIY Whoville Christmas tree center stage at your big WHObilation party.
It works perfectly with my favorite party backgrounds made of paper plates!
