Every year on Black Friday I get very excited to pull out all the holiday decorations and get started making the house all festive! But this year, I started a little earlier, like about two weeks early. I wanted to feel that Christmas spirit and I knew I’d need more time to figure out how to have it and still have a safe toddler proofed experience at the same time. Here’s our grand solution:
Our tree is blocked off by our coffee table! Take a tour of the rest of our holiday décor and how to made it a little safer for this little one!
Upon walking in you see our newly made over Entry Table Mirror and the new blue color scheme around it with my new mini wood crate snowman. In the mirror you can get a glimpse of our upstairs décor.
My DIY felt stocking advent calendar hangs around the railings between the first, second and third levels.
I didn’t do anything with them this year but I will be on the lookout for cute gifts/toys/ideas to fill it up for next year when Brielle understands everything a bit more. For now, it’s just some colorful decorations.
I took a tip from some other blogs I’ve been loving and decided to concentrate on making our living room entertainment unit more festive by swapping out the décor in each cubby for a festive look.
Our personalized stockings are hung at the top and some of my DIY Holiday Cones fill in some taller cubbies.
After pinning this idea a while back, I’ve decided to try out the tradition framing the yearly holiday family shot and “Santa and Me” in holiday frames, like the glittered one I made last year. Won’t it be fun to look back every year to see her grow? These frames are surrounded by a few other family memories, like the wooden car we won from a pool float race when vacationing in St. Lucia YEARS ago, the DIY Ring Box I made from our wedding using a Gone with the Wind book, and this mysteriously appearing ceramic Christmas tree that appeared the same day that Aunt Linda babysat in our home. :)
Our sideboard table holds our Christmas Card Wreath which I updated last year with a few glittered clothespins. In front I added a basket which holds the Christmas Card mini books I made. Each year I’ll put together a mini book with all the photo cards received and it will be another growing part of my Christmas décor!
Do you see the Bottle Cap Ornament or Brielle’s First Christmas Ornament hung front and center?
After Christmas last year I got Brielle this pink tinsel tree for her room for $3 at Kohls. Isn’t it cute? Maybe she’ll be into helping me decorate it next year!
Here’s my little helper after she puts on the “lies” as she calls the Christmas lights on the tree. It’s a push button so she goes over there every morning and presses it with her foot. Pretty sure she loves all the Christmas décor as much as me!
Thanks so much for taking a tour of my holiday décor! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
