Bringing a new baby into a house with an almost 2 year toddler brings along many challenges. As much as we tried to prepare Brielle for this change, I knew she wouldn’t fully understand what was happening until it was happening! When it came time to meet this new little person I wanted Brielle to feel special so I made sure to put together a little gift that the baby would give her. And because it’s always nice to introduce the art of giving, I also put together a little gift Brielle would give her new sister. Here’s what I included:
BIG SISTER GIFT:
Carters Big Sister T-shirt – I meant for Brielle to promptly put this t-shirt on upon receiving it so she could proudly wear it around the hospital as a big sister.
ALEX Toys Wooden Dough Tools Set and Alex Toys Glitter Dough – Knowing that the attention span of a 2 year old is quite short, I wanted to make sure Brielle’s gift included a toy or activity that she could open and play with at the hospital. She was already a fan of playing with dough at home so introducing these wooden tools for more interactive play sounded like a good idea. Plus, look how cute those little glitter dough sets are?!
I’m a Big Sister Book by Joanna Cole – Since Brielle is currently a fan of reading, I made sure to include a special big sister themed book, just for her! We will be reading this one often to reiterate her new role in the house.
LITTLE SISTER GIFT:
Carters Little Sister Onesie – This one, of course, matched Brielle’s outfit which will be perfect for a photoshoot down the road!
Puppy WubbaNub – Brielle was, and still is a big fan of her Wubbanubs, a plush animal that’s attached to a soothie pacifer. As a baby she used them often to learn how to hold her pacifier and as a toddler she now has them in her crib just to play with them as familiar stuffed animal pets. Knowing that I’d want her sister to have one, I thought it was only appropriate for Brielle to be the giver of this beloved accessory.
To complete the gift giving experience I put each of these items in a gift bag and included a coordinating “Big Sis” and “Lil Sis” tag I designed.

Brielle loved that she got to open presents while in the hospital and has been enjoying both the dough tools and big sister book since being home!
