Long time followers will know that we do not tell our kids about upcoming plans for trips or activities until right before we go or love to reveal vacationing partners in a fun way on the trip!
Back when my girls were really little, we did an Easter Egg hunt to reveal the news of a Disney World vacation, which didn’t go over too well as they didn’t know what that meant AND they couldn’t read the final message! LOL. But the hunt part was fun and it’s something we’ve continued over the years.
A later trip to Disney World was welcomed with a collection of all our Disney gear plus a few key themed items and a special cardstock crafted message on the wall. You can grab the FREE svg cut file to create this same messaging from cardstock for your Disney World reveal!
And just last year we surprised my girls and a bestie family with news that we were headed on a trip together to Boston in the summer via another Easter Egg hunt. This post includes the FREE SVG file to create these egg fillers to create any message you want for your hunt!
This year’s spring break trip was revealed a few weeks ahead as I’ll need them to try on spring clothes in an off season and thought it would be suspicious. To do this, I designed this Vacation Reveal Scavenger Hunt that is now available to you! This kit includes 10 clue cards and a first all with rhyming patterns that sends kids on a hunt around their house to common areas, like their sock drawer, pillow, toothbrush and kitchen sink.
It also includes this sign as a first reveal message letting them know the purpose of the hunt and the spot to find the first clue! This photo was taken where they hadn’t yet read the sign but I made them taking a picture holding it before I told them what their surprise was.
Soon they got to work reading each of the clues out loud and running all over the house to find the next one in the series.
Each of the 10 clues are spread around common rooms and spaces in a home so it’s easy for you to set up and do with your kids!
The last vacation surprise clue leads them to the bathtub where they’d find the final reveal card that you can hand write any information you want. I also purchased two new suitcases for the trip so it made for an even bigger surprise.
