There are lots of craft materials that have multiple uses and Poly-Fil Polyester Fiber Fill from my friends at Fairfield World is no different. This fluffy material is great to stuff into fabric based projects to create a pillow like effect, create plush characters from croqueted yarn or stuff into sewn felt shapes to create dimensional ornaments for the holidays. But this time, I’m using Poly-Fil in it’s natural element to create a cloud effect on this fun birthday craft!

Cloud 9 Cupcake Toppers Supplies
- Cardstock – White, light blue, dark blue
- On Cloud 9 SVG cut file – includes both cake topper and cupcake toppers
- Poly-Fil Fiber Fill
- Cricut Maker
- Lollipop Sticks
- Hot Glue
- Dimensional Foam Adhesive Squares

Upload your Cloud 9 SVG Cut File to Cricut Design Space and cut the components from the three colors of sturdy cardstock.

Sort your pieces into colors. Tip: the “9” of the cake topper is larger than the cupcake toppers so make sure you save the right ones for that part.

Adhere the light blue and dark blue layered pieces together.

Use dimensional adhesive to attach the “on cloud nine” white shapes from the cake topper onto the light blue layer.

Next, adhere Poly-Fil onto any of the #9 components.

This is best done by taking a small piece, balling it slightly and using hot glue to adhere it onto the white cardstock 9. Add more to fill in the space, but make sure it doesn’t cover any of the inner hole components so you can still read the number 9. Use scissors to trim the outer edges to help form the 9.

Adhere the fluffy Poly-Fil covered 9s to any final components to complete the cloud 9 looks.

Once complete, use hot glue to attach lollipop sticks to the back of the cardstock designs leaving room for them to be inserted into your dessert.

On party day, add your Cloud 9 dessert toppers into your sweet treats and get ready to sing happy birthday.

These are great to complete the theme and use for photography purposes on the special day but PLEASE REMOVE PRIOR TO LIGHTING ANY CANDLES near the toppers.

These are for decorative purposes only and should not be included in the candle lighting component of the celebration day. See how these look in real life in my instagram reel video!
