This past February we had been in our home for six years and I’m working to share these spaces here on the blog. We’ve been slowly but surely making changes to improve the functionality or look to our home and make it more us. Today I’m showing you a cool update to our kitchen!
My advice? Don’t live with something you hate just because it was there when you moved in. (Remember my Rookie Home Decorating Mistakes?) Let’s take a step back a few years to the lighting that was in our kitchen when we moved in:
I never liked this matching chandelier and pendant set but it stayed for over 5 years. I didn’t care for the leaf detail, the yellowish lampshades over each of the lights and especially the height in which the chandelier hung over the table.
We had it chained up as high as possible and yet Derek hit his head on it every time he stood up. (He’s not even tall!) Since it matched the pendants we waited until we found a full set we loved.
Fast forward a few years and we found a set that’s much more us!
Round, curved shapes with circular details on top? Yes please!
A single chandelier with a bottom that gives off reflective soft light instead of seeing a bulb? I’m in love!
These were purchased at Lowes online and dare I say complete this room! (Don’t they look pretty over my Bloomsybox flowers?)
The color in these photos makes them look a lot more yellow than they are in real life so I included the resource links before where you can check it out online or in stores for yourself!

I was eyeing those light fixtures at the store :) We have no where to currently put them until we renovate the kitchen which is not in the near future but I really like them.
