Anyone want to join my boat? It’s for moms who have to shop for a bathing suit but are looking for features like hiding that mid section. Seriously it’s a REALLY fun boat to be on! While I’m still working on getting fit, I had an immediate need for new bathing suits this winter for swim lessons with the girls. Today I’m showcasing three cute one piece bathing suits I picked up at Target recently that I suggest to women in my boat.
Remember when one piece bathing suits came in only two categories: sporty ones and grandma style with a little skirt? I’m happy to report that more flattering and modern one piece bathing suits are coming out, even with some major retailers, like Target. And no, I’m not a fashion blogger by any means but I know so many women are probably in the same boat as me and could use some recommendations.
I ordered over $300 worth of bathing suits in the last few months but love the return policy at Target so I only kept the few I like! And since bathing suit shopping is pretty much the worse thing ever, I encourage you to order these online since you can easily return at store or through the mail. If you have a red card you get free shipping or spend $25 to hit the minimum, which is really since since it’s Target! Tip: keep an eye out for a sale as they seem to be having them a lot recently. I got mine as buy one get one 50% off. Oh and if you have a red card, you get 5% off for your order!
Merona Macrame Strap One Piece – I actually have 2 of these, one in the black and white stripe and one in the library gray. I like the macrame detail that gives it a little texture and appreciate the cut to be cute but not too revealing. The way the suit is layered with the roushing helps to conceal some tummy issues which this mom of 2 loves!
Sea Angel Moroccan Haze Lace One Piece Swimsuit – This is the only suit of the three that I didn’t yet wear for swim lessons but plan to wear to the beach. I ordered about 5 of these ones with the lace piece in the front and this was the one I kept because let me tell you, they weren’t all created equal! Some of the solid versions and this print above had a great stretch while some of the white floral print versions were made of a different material that seemed tighter.
Ultimately I went with this pattern as it was a bit more forgiving in hiding some problem areas but still super cute with the lace in the front. And how cute is this lacy front?
Merona Twist Front One Piece – Here’s another suit that helps to hide that mid section. This was the one and only bathing suit I wore ALL of last year and it held up great through tons of washing! It will once again be in rotation this summer!
Sorry folks, but I’m not modeling these for you on the internet! If you want to see them in person find me at my mom’s pool or at the beach this summer. :) (Woo hoo! We just booked a beach house this year and I can’t wait until August!). Hope you can take my word for it and try out these styles based on verbal recommendation alone.
And you might notice a trend of blacks/greys as my color palette because well #slimming but many of these do come in brighter options if that’s what you prefer!
