Whether you’re looking for a teacher gift to give for Teacher’s Appreciation Week or the end of the school year, you’ll love this cute gift idea! Consider putting a handmade touch to your teacher gift and create an embroidered notebook with their initial or a cute design. Pair this handmade gift with a cute “All about my teacher” printable and gift card for a complete gift to say thanks.
Personally, I like to give the gift that any teacher wants: a Target gift card. But I can’t just wrap that up and call it a day. The maker in me always likes to put a handmade spin on it, whether it’s by me or by the girls or in this case, by both of us!
I randomly came across these adorable DIY stitch notebooks when scrolling the aisles of Dollar Tree recently. I posted a photo on my instagram stories to share my fun find and then proceeded to think about them for two days straight. Yes, I became obsessed. I wanted them but wasn’t sure why and finally realized I could personalize them to make a great teacher gift!
The kit includes a plastic needle and embroidery thread but I, of course, dug into my embroidered thread stash to add more to them. Now I had the notebooks and the thread but wasn’t sure what to make. I needed to sketch. I mocked up the notebook cover as a printable template and was able to draw out some designs, finally landing on an initials concept. (BTW I made these alphabets readily available for you as a free template guide!)
After I stitched up each of these notebook covers I paired them with these cute “All About my Teacher” printables from my friend, Laura’s etsy shop, Indigo Ink Boutique. She has a bunch of cute teacher appreciation designs for both boys or girls to give to make sure to check out her shop! They are available as instant downloads so you can print as many as you want for one price. I actually printed mine on a cream cardstock but they would look just as fabulous on white!
I love that it got Brielle involved and I’m sure her teachers are going to get a kick out of her little kid handwriting since she wrote each teacher’s name on the top and adorable answers that came right out of her mouth.
