You’ve seen me use flat pieces of Oly*Fun fabric from Fairfield World to create a table runner or folded over to create a firepit cushion and curled up to fill in an area to create a fun photo prop but today I’m sewing it up to create fun fabric flowers!

And WHY am I creating these fabric flowers, you ask? Because I needed to add a little color to my craft room/ office. I purposely painted this with white walls and grey tones so the coloring wouldn’t reflect on all the photos I shoot for clients in this space. But that doesn’t mean I can’t add a little color to the door!

Spring Flower Wreath Supplies
- Oly*Fun – Orange Crush, Kiwi, Clover, Sky Blue, Bubble Gum, Cherry Pop
- Foam Wreath
- Scissors
- Embroidery Thread and Needled
- Buttons
- Rotary Knife
- Metal Ruler
- Straight Pins
- Wreath Hanger

This project can easily be created with any fabric like material. Since I had so many bolts of this colorful OlyFun material, I went ahead and put them to colorful use! This material cuts so easily with a rotary cutter and doesn’t fray, which is such a bonus when crafting! To create the flowers I cut larger strips of the floral colors.

Thinner strips of green were cut to wrap the foam wreath (and later, my wreath holder).

Wrap the wreath tightly using straight pins to hold the ends in place.

Next fold the OlyFun strips in half and use a running stitch along the one edge in a similar color.

Pull the thread and tie a knot to create a bunchy flower shape. Use hot glue to secure into a flower shape. Layer with buttons in the center. This collection of buttons came from my husband’s grandma and has been used in other crafts in the past, like this headband I made for Brielle’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade or this wall decor piece for Hailey’s bedroom.

Once you create the flowers and fill in the button centers, glue them onto your green wrapped wreath.

If desired, add some pennants using other scraps and hang on the door.

Now my office has a little more color and whimsy thanks to OlyFun and these fabric flowers!
