Rainbows are everywhere this season! First it’s St. Patrick’s Day then the spring season comes and we are blessed with lots of pretty rainbow themed photos! Brielle loves when I make up little themed activities, like the Easter Egg letter hunt I shared last month so this time I sent her a rainbow color hunt!

This isn’t the first time we did the color hunt concept in this house.
The Elf also brought a color hunt activity for her using individual sheets of construction paper. This time around she got to put together a beautiful rainbow with items around the house.
The supplies and setup could not be more easy. Grab a piece of paper (I love our paper roll for this activity) and colorful markers and draw up a rainbow. Cheap. Easy. Done.
When it’s time to play, unroll the sheet and station a few books on the four corners to get the paper to stay put and send them off to find colorful items.
Sometimes she’d do this by hunting for what’s around her in our play areas.
And other times I brought the materials to her, like our beloved Bristol Blocks, to let her make her rainbow.
Overall, this is just another fun way to practice our colors and something cheap and simple I can unroll at a moment’s notice for entertainment! Tip: If you can, space out the lines as much as possible so you can fit wider shapes in between!
