I simply cannot believe that my birthday twins are turned 10 and 8 but here we are! They still love to celebrate together, especially since many of their friends overlap so a joint party it was! After hosting a bowling party two years ago, and rock climbing party last year, we knew we still wanted a fun and physical location for these birthday girls. After visiting a few options, we finally agreed upon iPlay America, an indoor amusement park, to celebrate their joint big day.
INVITATIONS
There are only so many years left that I can design their invite so I was happy to put this double sided design together for them. I went with the amusement park theme and used some photos taken at the local park.
LOCATION
While I always love throwing a party at home, now that the kids are older, sprinklers and backyard games are just not enough to entertain these kids.
This year we booked their joint birthday party at iPlay America in Freehold NJ. First brownie points were received when they gather all the kids at the start of the party for a group photo in front of their step and repeat wall.
This indoor amusement park has it all! We opted for the iParty package on a Friday evening which ended up being the best timing since we basically got the place to ourselves! Their party packages include a party host (or in our case, 2) which stays with your group the whole time, leading you around to the different rides, carnival style games and eventually back to the party room. Because it was an active time in the summer where people are typically on vacation or outside, there wasn’t many other non party guests in the place so we got to go on all the rides we planned (you get to chose 6 in your package) plus a few others, plus go on some twice!
We were also able to mix in 3 carnival style games, where we didn’t compete for the prizes, but did compete for fun.
After lots of rides and game time, we headed back to our private party room which was plenty spacious for our group of 15 kids and several parents. We opted for pizza, which all the kids eagerly chomped down at that point in the night, then we sand “Happy Birthday” to our girls.
In addition to receiving 4 passes to return to iPlay America at a later date for booking this party, there was also a promo running where we got another pass! Before setting down to dinner, the special birthday guest (or in our case two birthday guests) get to spin a wheel to win a special prize. My girls ended up getting $75 gift card and $50 gift card for a future visit! They can’t wait to go back!
FOOD & DRINK
This venue doesn’t allow you to bring in outside food except for dessert. I was fine going with the standard pizza dinner, but I made homemade cupcakes and brought fruit salad for dessert.
To continue the amusement park party theme, I created these printable Ferris Wheel cupcake toppers with the same pastel pink, yellow, purple and blue color scheme. You can grab these now in my etsy shop and print them for as many cupcakes or dessert as you want!
FAVORS
With this party being an amusement park theme, I thought a themed edible treat would be a great favor to send the guests home with. It’s yummy, sweet, and not something that will clutter their room afterwards.
I found these containers at the local Sam’s club and designed these Ferris Wheel thank you tags that match the cupcake toppers and the invite to tie on. Grab them now in my shop with plenty of room for kids to personalize in their cute little hand writing.
Another fun party in the books!
