If you’re a long time follower, you might be remember that memorable year of 2020 when my husband turned 40 and we had an at home celebration for him?
I have all his old family photos and since I’ve known him since he was 20 I was able to find a photo of every year and created this fun party hat birthday garland for him using these photos. I’ve added to it in the 5 years since but in working on versions for my daughters’ 11 and 13th birthday, I decided to update the file a bit to create this all inclusive file and listing along with Cricut Design Space instructional document so you too can make these for your upcoming birthdays!
Party Hat Photo Birthday Garland
- Party Hat Garland SVG Cut File
- 4 x 6″ Photos of birthday guest of honor’s head
- Cardstock
- ZIG 2 way glue
- Hot Glue
- 3D Dot Foam Adhesive
- Pom Poms
First, grab my SVG Cut file listing from my etsy.
This Party Hat Photo Garland listing includes an instruction PDF document explaining how to set up your file in Cricut Design Space as you’ll need to designate the numbers with the “pen” settings and use the Cricut pen to draw the designs.
While all that is cutting, work to cut out the heads/shoulders of your birthday guest of honor’s photos.
Next, begin assembling the pieces. Again, this PDF instruction sheet that comes on the listing will include more details and tips about the assembly process.
You may choose to use a mix of a ZIG 2 way glue pen, foam dot dimensional adhesive and hot glue to create this photo garland.
String it up using the included hanger piece and display the party hat photo garland on their special day!
I created this for my daughters this past year where they are turning 11 and 13. I did, however, create all the cardstock pieces for ages 1 – 18 so I could easily just keep printing a photo and assembling it year after year until they turn 18. This file does include number circles for ages 1 – 50 so you could also use this for a future milestone birthday, similar to what I did for my husband’s 40th!
