I recently had the opportunity to style an Octonauts party for Birthday in a Box using their adorable line of products. I, for one, love the challenge of mixing themed party decorations with basic prints and patterns to really make the party pop.
And when it comes to helping to bring in the party theme, it never hurts to make foods that look like the characters from the show. In this case I started with the most important part, the cake!
You know I’m a big fan of cupcakes instead of cake for birthday parties (because of the whole singing/spitting into the cake when blowing out these candles) and OREO cookies so I combined these two loves to make Peso Penguin cupcakes.
This easy Octonauts party dessert can be whipped up ahead of time to decorate your cupcake or you can just use the decorated cookies on their own.
My other favorite thing to use for party food is Jello! It’s fun to eat and comes in lots of different colors so you can always make some that matches your party theme.
These fun orange Jello cups were made with the help of a free printable I designed.
Print, trim to shape and use a glue stick to attach to a clear cup and your Kwazii Jello cups are ready to be added to your Octonauts party dessert table!
I can tell you that these are always a hit in our house!

I love this! I’m planning an octonauts party and want to do the Oreos like you did, but I have a question, is it buttercream or fondant for pesos face?

So fun! This was from many years ago but if I remember correctly, I did it with white melted chocolate, black icing for the eyes and the beak was half a yellow m&m. Tag me if you make them! I’d love to see! Spotofteadesigns on fb and ig
