As a crafter, I know how long it takes to make some handmade gifts. Items I receive need more than the few minutes of love I can give it, so I’m happy to post these Handmade with Love posts that showcase great handmade cards or gifts I have received.
This year on Mother’s Day I was 26 weeks pregnant with my first but because she wasn’t yet on the outside of the womb, I didn’t feel AS motherly as I know I’ll feel next year.
But that didn’t stop some sweet friends and family from wishing me a happy “mother’s to be” day. My nephew Blake even made me the above card with his handprints/footprints! :)

I was recently asked by a long time friend, Elizabeth, to help customize a graduation announcement for her son, Andrew, who is proudly heading off to BYU this fall. Elizabeth was one of the Creative Artist Members I worked with so many years at EK Success and I saw little Andrew grow up right before my eyes through all the scrapbook pages she completed for our company! I was, of course, honored to help her out and make this for her, asking nothing in return.
In typical Elizabeth style, a package was sent a week later, containing a hand written note by Andrew and the above set of handmade thank you cards! I love that they are all different but still retain the signature simple yet classy style that Elizabeth has always produced! I’ll be sure to note that whoever I send them to, they weren’t hand done by me, but my very talented and sweet friend, Elizabeth! Thanks for the thank yous, Elizabeth! If you want to be inspired by Elizabeth’s work, check out her newest blogging venture which includes a lot of other familiar creative faces!

Lastly, I wanted to share a recent Etsy purchase I made for myself! I had given Allie a camera strap slipcover as part of her Matron of Honor gift last September and I have wanted one for myself ever since! After looking around on Etsy, I discovered another adorable shop that creates these straps, known as Paisley Maizie.

The owner, Jamie, makes these fun slipcover styles which also include a pocket for the lens caps! SCORE! I went with the above grey and blue reversible chevron stripe slipcover and love it! Bonus: She had a coupon code available on her Facebook page for St. Patrick’s Day. Make sure you check out her FB page for any other discounts or special sales she’s offering before ordering. I’d highly recommend her beautiful camera straps for any DSLR user.

What a beautiful card from your nephew to start your Mother’s Day card collection! Years from now, when you find it again your “treasure box”, it will give you such joy. I have saved many special treasures and love reliving such beautiful memories. The thank you cards are just beautiful! I’m heading over to Elizabeth’s blog next :) ~maria
