Goodby St. Patrick’s Day, hello Easter! It’s time to dig into some cute Easter themed kids crafts and yummy Easter desserts! Even young toddlers can create a cute Easter Kids Craft when trying out this contact paper resist technique with finger paint!
I’m done with all things and green and ready for fun Easter pastels, aren’t you? Well this craft unfortunately didn’t turn out as expected because I forgot how much toddlers love to mix colors. It’s ok! The girls had fun and both turned out a cute Easter themed craft.
Supplies:
- Large paper roll
- Contact paper roll
- Finger paint
- Scissors
First, draw a paint outline of an egg shape on a piece of paper. Next, cut strips and zig zag shapes or punch circle shapes from the Contact paper. Peel and apply to the egg shape to create a contact paper resist.
Then… let them paint! Brielle likes to use her paintbrush and cover EVERY inch of her paper. She also did her fair share of mixing the colors on her plate so instead of yellows, oranges and purples, we got brown.
Hailey is meanwhile in her exploring phase. She holds the paintbrush but really it’s just a prop. Her fingers and hands do all the action.
Encourage that they thoroughly cover the full surface of the paper to get the decorated egg affect.
Once dry, peel the contact paper pieces to reveal the original white paper. It turns into a fun Easter egg themed craft they made all themselves!
Watch them show off their Easter craft with pride!
