DIY Candy Party Centerpiece Supplies

- Wooden dowels
- Glitter
- Acrylic Paint
- Spray Paint
- Silver Pipe Cleaners
- Mod Podge Glue
- Plastic treat bags or cellophane
- Container

- Wood stands
- Paper Shred

First insert wood dowels into the foam discs and cones (with the pointy end facing down). The discs and large balls will later become lollipops while the cones will help form our cotton candy decor.

Let’s make some faux lollipops and gumballs! Paint the wood dowels of the cotton candy pieces, all the foam balls, the flat foam discs and the wood stands using acrylic paint.

Once dry, apply a layer of Mod Podge and clear fine glitter on the foam discs and balls. Allow to dry completely and apply a second layer to help seal the glitter in place.
To create the wrapped candies, add the small glittered balls into a treat bag and use twist ties on each side. Trim the bags to create a cellophane wrapped candy ball!

Let’s make some faux cotton candy pieces! Grab a small batch of Poly-Fil, Polyester Fiber fill and squeeze your hands to form a thick snake like shape. This material is so silky smooth and easy to adapt to stuff both inside a sewn craft or used in it’s raw form.
Use hot glue to apply this Poly-Fil bunch onto the cone. Wrap it as you go and continue to fill the cone to resemble a stick of cotton candy.

Next cover the painted sticks with scrap paper and apply a light layer of spray paint onto the Poly-Fil to turn it into believable cotton candy sticks! Allow this to dry completely.

Now it’s time to assemble your cotton candy centerpiece! First, glue down your floral foam block inside the container then glue it onto the painted wood block at an angle. In doing so, you allow some room in front to glue a few of the faux wrapped candies on the platform.

Carefully insert your faux lollipops and cotton candy sticks into the floral foam to create your dimensional centerpiece.

Add more paper shred into the container to cover the foam block and glue one of the wrapped candies onto the stand.

Make the party a little more fun by creating some extra faux lollipops or cotton candy sticks and allow guests to use them as photo props to play with your theme!

Guests will love fake licking and posing with your sweet party props that won’t melt or get sticky when holding!
