For those of you who follow me on instagram, you might be aware of the DIY hashtag group I often work with seasonally. It’s a group of 10 creative women who love to share home decor, celebrations, and gift giving all made with things they make by hand. This season our #DIYitsFallOhMy hashtag group is working with some new sponsors, including Ikonart Stencil.
The kit itself that makes the stencils uses UV light to expose the stencil film then you wash it off to reveal your design. I don’t technically didn’t get to try out their system that makes the stencils but did have the opportunity to use one of their DIY self adhesive silkscreen stencils thanks to one of the co-hostesses Lexy.
She was able to use the SVG cut file I designed (GRAB IT FOR FREE HERE!) to create me a silkscreen stencil!
I had this gravestone shaped wood sign from Dollar Tree for a few years now and it seemed like the perfect time to add a design on top!
Thanks to a little Decoart paint as a base on this wood shape and black acrylic used on the stencil itself, I was able to create a fun Broom Parking Halloween Sign to display this October.
I found these cute mini brooms at Dollar Tree that added a little accent to this punny playful sign. This was my first experience with a stencil, and a silkscreen one at that, so I know that one I play more I’ll be able to perfect the look and not create a bleed.
